Welcoming Students Back at the Honors Craft & Sip

By: Oliver Schofield ‘26

After wrapping up Welcome Week, the Honors Advisory Board has been thrilled to have students from all years back on campus for our first weekly event of the year, the Welcome Back Craft & Sip, which took place on September 14th.

The event transformed the Honors longue into a charming restaurant, complete with plaid tablecloths and champagne flutes full of apple cider. As the event kicked off, students rushed to pick out stickers, paint, and notebooks to create their dream journals. Canvases were available for anyone who didn’t want to decorate a journal, ensuring that everyone could join in on the creativity.

The lounge was packed with students from every school on campus, trading stories about how classes have been going so far. This event gave students a great chance to meet new people and catch up with friends from previous years. Smiles were had all around, and at the end of the event everyone had a unique piece of art to take home.

Annie Driscoll, HAB Events Committee Leader said, “The Craft & Sip was a success in my eyes! Around 30 people attended, breaking our goal for our first Honors Event and there was a lot of talent in attendance! Even some of my mentees came and told me they had a great time. We’re hopeful that this is the only the start of successful events put on by the Honors Advisory Board this year.”

This event was a great chance to take a breather from the bustle of a new semester and unwind with fellow Honors students. I’d like to give a huge thank you to the Honors Advisory Board and especially HAB’s Events team for putting this event together. I’m really excited to see what the next Honors event has in store!
