Grab your pots, pans, and baking sheets: here’s a guide to throw the perfect Friendsgiving at Pace!
This time of year is usually spent with family and maybe some close friends, but for many, we’re away from home and spending the holiday in the city. How can we make the most of our break? Maybe sleeping in, or catching up on a tv show that’s been on the backburner for the past couple weeks. However, on the evening of thanksgiving, it’s required to fill your plate to the brim – even if you don’t like to cook. It’s incredibly easy to find easy meals to prepare with your friends that make the holiday fun and relaxing.
On this list, you’ll find some ideas for food, movies to watch, and a family recipe that satiates even the pickiest of eaters! picky eaters
- Stove Top box Stuffing: average of $2 at stores, prep time: 5 mins
- King Ranch Chicken:
– 1 (3 lb) chicken, boiled and de-boned
– 1 bag of tortilla chips
– 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
– 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
– 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
– 1 onion, chopped
– 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
After getting all your ingredients, it’s a simple process; preheat the oven to 300 degrees F, and layer the chips in a 9×13 oven-safe dish. Next, combine everything else listed above- except the chicken and cheese – and split it in half. Pour one half onto the laid out chips and lay out the boiled chicken pieces. Put half of the cheese, and the remaining soup mixture. Bake at 300 degrees F for 20 mins – then add the remaining cheese and let it melt (put back in the oven for a couple minutes if needed).
When you think of “Thanksgiving movies” the immediate first image should be Snoopy and Woodstock beside a larger than life turkey – “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” is the perfect cozy, fuzzy-quality movie to make you reminisce about holidays past. It has an unforgettable soundtrack, and a sweet story that can list your mood when you accidentally burn the first batch of cinnamon cookies.
Taking a complete 180 – “Dutch” follows the story of a mothers new boyfriend picking up her son and their road trip back to Chicago from Georgia. The entire movie has hijinks like no other – the two are at each other’s throats and fighting the entire way, until they are forced to bond through distressing circumstances.
