Sports in New York City

New York City is home to several iconic sports teams, and it is such a fun experience to watch them in action. On October 2, I caught the subway up to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to watch the team take on the Tampa Bay Rays, thanks to finding $20 tickets on SeatGeek. I sat along the first base line in the 400s section where the view was incredible. This game was an important one for the Yankees, who were working towards securing a spot in the playoffs. The Rays defeated the Yankees 12-2, but the experience of cheering for the team with a packed stadium was amazing. The Yankees made it to the Wild Card game for the playoffs but were kicked out by the Boston Red Sox. Though the Yankees’ season has ended, the New York Rangers’ season is just beginning. The Rangers play hockey in their home at Madison Square Garden in Midtown. On September 28, I attended a preseason game when they played against the Boston Bruins. I snagged a $50 ticket, from SeatGeek again, and had a blast watching the game. The energy in the arena was electrifying. As a hockey fan, it was a surreal experience watching the game in the famous MSG. The Rangers’ home opener kicked off their season on October 14. If you are interested in watching a New York City sports team play, I would definitely recommend spending the money to enjoy the experience.
